Organ and Taonga Puoro Collaboration

Kia ora whanau, I will be heading to Otautahi/Christchurch on the 16th October 2009, to collaborate with organist Grant Hutchinson.  Grant will be playing the St Lukes Church Organ while I play Taonga Puoro, as  St Lukes Church, celebrates its 150th year.

This will be my first official performance with an organ, and no doubt the fusion of very different instruments in such an awesome venue will create an amazing acoustic environment that will be food for the ears and food for the soul.  So, if you are free, come and join us as we fuse what we know as western Folk music with traditional Maori music.

The following week (22 October 2009) Grant and I will be taking our performance to another wonderful venue, the St Lukes Church in Rotorua.  So you have two chances to make it to a show that can’t be missed.
